I’m Shienne, an O‘ahu-based editorial documentary photographer capturing people, stories, and moments as they naturally unfold. My work is candid, emotional, and rooted in creating imagery that feels honest and cinematic rather than overly posed.



Quick dumb facts:

  • I met my husband on Call of Duty, LOL.
  • I get an Iced Oatmilk Latte with white chocolate and vanilla at almost every coffee shop I go to.

We had such a great experience with Dropdeadshy Photography for our holiday photos. Even though the weather started to rain on our parade during the session, everything was still captured beautifully.

Family Session

 

We absolutely loved our session with Shienne! This was our first professional photoshoot, and we were a little nervous about posing, but she made us feel completely at ease. She guided us through everything, helped with posing, and had us laughing the whole time.


We left the shoot feeling so excited to see the photos! The sneak peeks she sent made us even more thrilled, and we were completely blown away when we got the full gallery back!


We highly, highly recommend her — and a special shoutout to her sweet assistant who kept our 15-month-old entertained so we could sneak in a few couple shots, too. 10/10, five stars all around!

We’re incredibly grateful to have had Shienne capture such a special moment in our lives. From start to finish, she was warm, professional, and made us feel so comfortable during the session.

Even though she humbly says maternity photography isn’t her forte, her work says otherwise — every image she delivered was stunning, emotional, and full of life. She has such a natural talent for capturing candid, heartfelt moments and creating a visual story that feels true to who we are.

I’m not the best at posing, but she was so encouraging and helpful, gently guiding me throughout the session while still keeping everything relaxed and fun. We originally hoped for a golden sunset, but the skies ended up cloudy, and we were worried how the photos would turn out. Despite the weather, Shienne worked with the lighting beautifully, creating a soft, moody atmosphere that added so much depth to the final images.

Her style is earthy, warm, and timeless. She knows how to frame both wide scenic views and intimate, detailed moments, and the subtle use of black-and-white in our gallery added a timeless, artistic touch.

Shienne is not only talented, but also just a joy to be around. Whether it’s maternity, couples, family, or any occasion — I truly recommend her to anyone looking for meaningful, high-quality photos!

I had the absolute best experience doing my branding photos with Shy! From the very beginning, she made me feel so comfortable—like we were old friends just catching up.  Her energy is so warm and genuine, and she knew exactly how to guide me with easy prompts and clear direction.


She had me laughing 99% of the time, and I honestly forgot I was even in front of a camera!  I also loved how she kept getting creative sparks throughout the session and wasn’t afraid to try a wide variety of poses and ideas. The whole shoot felt effortless, fun, and so me.


If you’re thinking of booking with Shy—do it. You won’t regret it. She’s the sweetest soul and truly has a gift for capturing people as they are.
